What motivates journal writers?

I have been keeping an ET journal for about a month now, and I have found it valuable.

1. The act of keeping it - deciding what is important & writing it down - helps.

2. The ability to reflect on what you have done & look for patterns good/bad helps.

3. A public journal - when accompamnied by a plan - is an additional pressure to stick to the plan

4. A public journal attracts comments - some are helpful.

Of these, No. 1, is by far the most important.

 

They like to see their name up in pixels.

 

Heres my business plan.... promotion via an ET journal. Posting live trade ideas. Gather a following. Start charging the following 200 bucks a month.

Try it and get back to me. If you can get a hundred or so members you will make a nice living. I would bet you wont though. Its not as easy as it looks.
