I've been asked to gather metrics for a new in-house trading software we would like to perches, mostly for Future trading. What in your opinion makes a good (future) trading platforms, what makes a bad one, what should we look into deeply, and what can be safely ignored? Which feature should we insist on? (I know it's highly a matter of skill and taste, but this is why I'm asking the majority, to get the different aspects and opinions). Thank you.
Not all is matter of taste. The first feature clearly is that the platform be able to generate profits. The other features are often conditions necessary but not sufficient. - Session restore capability - Accurate data filtering - Start / Stop scheduler - Alert / Notification system - Possibility to add remove instruments on the fly - Possibility to add options to single instruments - Possibility of manual intervention - Effective charting / Reporting - Tuning capabilities - Backtesting capabilities ... ____________________ Tom My futures auto trading journal
