What Liberal Policies Got OBL Killed?

  1. Hello

    Hello

George Bush has claimed he was on a mission from God when he launched the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a senior Palestinian politician in an interview to be broadcast by the BBC later this month.
Mr Bush revealed the extent of his religious fervour when he met a Palestinian delegation during the Israeli-Palestinian summit at the Egpytian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, four months after the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

One of the delegates, Nabil Shaath, who was Palestinian foreign minister at the time, said: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I am driven with a mission from God'. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did."

Mr Bush went on: "And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it."

You've got to be kidding. This is your source? What a load of crap!

And, the White House denied the statement ever happened.

The White House has dismissed as "absurd" allegations made in a BBC TV series that President Bush claimed God told him to invade Iraq.

    Hello

Apparently you werent paying attention during the Bush years, i never thought i would have to resort to using Keith Olbermann, to defend my position, but here is some more for you showing that people were using God as a reason to be involved in Iraq

  4. Those are stellar quotes!

And I'm sure they were all followed by an attack on all things religion in our country.

That's a far cry from your earlier quote. He's trying to say it is going to take a while. So far a decade and no end in sight. I notice that is seems to be taken out of context anyway with some chopped off at the beginning. Typical liberal trick to twist someone's words.

I was listening what was happening then and your comments have very very little basis in reality.

Oh, and don't bother quoting Keith Olberman to confirm anything that was really happening during the Bush years. Olberman has zilch for credibility.

  9. Hello

    Hello

Bush used lots of biblical metaphors to define the war on terror, thats a fact. Atleast the right wing media wasnt implying that he was jesus though.

Maybe the original quote i used was poor, but i still find it scary any time a Leader, or the media makes biblical references when referring to a politician, or referring to a war.

Im not anti-religious, nor am i religious but i know it is a dangerous path when we start to refer to people/wars in biblical terms.

Especially when referring to an abject failure like Bush or Obama is. If someone was to refer to Ghandi or Mother Teresa, or Nelson Mandella in biblical metaphors it doesnt seem so scary in my eyes, but there are very few people who have ever warranted metaphors like that, and it certainly isnt Bush, or Obama, or the wars in the middle east that warrant such terminology.

    Hello

LOL, I think this was what you are getting at, but i dont even know if its hypocritical to compare Obama to Jesus on the one hand, then call Jesus an evil person on the other. They are basically saying Obama is evil, which makes perfect sense in my eyes. :D
