Can a beginner trader use 1:30 leverage in live trading? Is it reasonable to trade with that much leverage?

  2. I'm a newbie in forex as well, trading with a demo account. From my personal research and from the suggestions I received, using lower leverage of 1:30 is a good choice to avoid higher capital loss and risks.

  3. If you are aware about the risk, you should know that it is never reasonable to trade with that much leverage. You are better off trading in normal. In fact, you can try out demo trading with 30x and see how it can be easy or difficult for you to manage money and risk.

  4. I would discourage newbies from using any leverage in their trading.
As you are a newbie, you'd better pay more attention to the quality but not quantity. It is the same thing as learning how to drive on high speed without knowing the fundamentals of driving This will lead to the catastrophy. Trading is quite the same thing. Leverage is made in order to make more money using small budgets to trade. Leverage is a kind of a loan which take from the broker you are working with. If your trade is successful, then you reap higher rewards, however, in case of failure, your losses will be much higher than they could be without leverage. So, I believe that it is an open secret that in the beginning of your trading you'll face with many losses and your objective should be not to make them too dramatic for you to turn away from trading.

  6. Without leverage your portfolio wouldn't show much % gain unless you have a huge capital and months/years to hold on to a position
if you trading then you definitely need leverage.
you can start with 1:100 and trade
but in my opinion, you don't have worry much about leverage if you manage your risk well
opening huge lots and multiple positions would require bigger leverage and i personally wouldn't suggest you since you mentioned that you are a beginner.

I suggest trading with lower leverage for newbies because you will make several mistakes when trading live for the first time, and lower leverage reduces the chances of higher risk or loss in capital.
