Hello, I am not a computer guy so I dont know much about PC.

I decided to buy used, already build workstation under 500$ if it possible.
I decide to buy another PC, because I would like to buy 2K resolution monitor.
So I need some PC that can do that. Even better would be if it can handle 2x 4K monitors (maybe I will buy them in the future).

i read some forums that Dell or HP are the best (HP Z400,Z420,Z600,...Dell T3600, 5400,...)

Since I dont know how good PC I need, it would be great for some suggestions on all different HP or Dell models.

If I can get PC that can handle 2x 2K monitors, let say for 300$, I will go with that option, otherwise I am prepared to spent max 550$.

I will use this PC just for trading and watching movies.

    I dont play games.

    Thank you for any help.

  2. The Dell and HP workstations are equivalent. Both use MOBOs made by Foxconn and to very similar specs. Usually the Dells sell for less than HP.

Suggest looking for a Dell Precison T3600/3610 in your price range.

  3. ...Just scan eBay for your price range and/or specs o_O;)
Trading is not a complicated thing (tech-wise)...basically any semi-modern, average computer will do.

But as a general rule-of-thumb....as in just like buying a car....you should buy the best/latest model you can afford.

I'd add that you should get good monitors. Don't skimp and buy cheap ones.

In this field (like many nowadays) we stare at monitors all day.

If they aren't crisp and clear, the result is eye strain and headaches.

Do you have some suggestion about that?
I currently have a very good price offer on:

    https://www.techtradecenter.si/moni...0-x-1440-60hz-crne-barve-36-mesecev-garancije

I can get it for 300$ and it has 3 years warranty, but it is not IPS panel.

  6. At that res, text and images should be sharp. Shouldn't matter that the panel is not IPS.... you'll likely be viewing it mostly from a straight-on angle.

i paired an overclocked 8-core amd8300 with 128 MB memory. My trades are faster than speed o'light!

Cores are key for multi-threading! My whole trading app is in memory!

  8. That's more-or-less how they all work.... unless you're using something "custom".

For me, most important is to get an LED monitor. I have found those old fluorescent backlit monitors to be extremely tiring. You're basically staring into a big fluorescent light bulb all day long. Ugh.

Here's a couple of decent choices. Either should be sufficient for your needs, and they're a bit cheaper than what you posted. I have a Viewsonic on my desk right now, and I love it.

A lot of people pay little or no attention to their monitors. They'll just pick one up at a flea market or garage sale for five bucks, or even pull one out of a dumpster, plug it in, and use it. From a health perspective, the monitor is the most important piece of equipment. A bad monitor causes eye strain, headaches, fatigue... and that can result in bad trades! Also make sure to keep your screens clean. Dust is attracted to monitor screens. This distorts images, and can also cause health problems identified above.

I took a little time to look what the have on eBay and now I am in decision between this 4 HP-s:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Z600-W...364436?hash=item3d2d70ae54:g:W1YAAOSwB09YRt04

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Z400-W...681434?hash=item3d0712db9a:g:f6AAAOSwo0JWMKLa

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Z400-W...142444?hash=item3ad422a12c:g:f6AAAOSwo0JWMKLa

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Z400-W...756970?hash=item3accf5b16a:g:mI0AAOSwo4pYRzcQ

The space and RAM is in all this computers OK. And I also think all others specifications are more then I need, but since they are in 300-400€ budget, I would like to know what is better to have, better graphic card or better CPU, because this is only difference here.

    Thank you for help.
