People seem to have a real problem relating to things outside their own reality, especially the ones that use their nose as a wind direction indicator.
I don't give money away to get good feelings as you stated. That's pure selfishness-- yes giving 1000.00 to a homeless person is much more intelligent and effective than giving it to any organization or group. True charity is one on one. In addition, say you will give when you are rich, but don't now is completely bogus.
I went down to one of the homeless shelters here in Denver, CO. and actually did the work....I think that the hundred million dollars would free up my time to do more of this. Throwing cash at something may not be the answer....someone has got to do the time. ES
Better yet: Give the $1,000 to me right now. I promise I'll go out and spend it in Mojitos and lapdances, and will come back here and tell the whole ordeal, and everything I had to go through.
It's always good to volunteer. But I believe choosing a person and giving em a grand or 2 is a very powerful way to give back. If you don't trust the homeless angle, look in the local paper to find someone in need --- house burned down no insurance, sick kid. Whatever and anonymously fund what they need instead of giving cash directly. I happen to trust people, but if you don't buying what they need is he way to go.
the women will come here and tell about the whole ordeal they went through. one or two may flip to the other side.
