What is your religion or lack therof?

  1. Abstract thinking is seen in those with more developed brain functions.

    You can't think abstractly, so?

Intellect based on sensory input and senses themselves are limited, there is no limit to abstract thinking as it is not dependent on senses and limits of sense bound intellect...

  2. Actually, it is not irrelevant at all. Have you never heard the expression, "He is so full of shit his eyes are brown?"

Stated differently, you simply defy logic. When someone corners you on your own chess board, you simply astound them by moving your rook diagonally. Amazing stuff.

  3. Man has the UNLIMITED ability of abstract thought?? His thinking in the abstract is completely without limit? Hmmm.. interesting, Man's abstract thinking is on par with God. God's ability at abstract thinking is no greater than man's. :D God's got nothing on us here.. we are EQUAL. Each of us without limit to our abstract abilities. LOL

  4. You may think I am defying logic, your right of course.

If you are like LS, and lack the ability to think abstractly, then that's your chosen limitation...

That you resort to the banal personal attacks, that is nothing new.

  5. Show me the limit of abstract thinking...

    Doh!

Who said man's ability to think in the abstract is on par with God? Who said we are equal with God?

Why do you have to continue to make stuff up? I guess you can't deal with what is actually presented to you without going off on overly dramatic and futile non sequiturs...

A poor man can think about being a billionaire, he can imagine being a billionaire, he can imagine what it would be like to never run out of money...and equally, man can think about God's nature which is eternal, unlimited, and omnipresent.

It is called abstract thinking, it does require an open mind and the ability to use the noodle beyond the animalistic and primitive dullard concrete fixations...

  6. This is profound.

This world is an attempt to render God a useless concept by fragmenting God into separate little pieces packaged in unrecognizable shapes and forms...giving each form a descriptive name, such as, "jim" or "dan" or "sue".

This world is an attempt to change God's creation and make it meaningless, making it whatever "jim" or "dan" or "sue" says it is.

Meaning is derived from unity; meaninglessness from separation.

As such, it is a passing whim, a fantasy that appears and disappears.

Here's an abstract thought, (an original, I might add) ...

Perhaps God travels at the speed of light. Therefore time, and any questions of beginnings and ends, are moot.

    Atheists are comical.

  8. You made the claim on no limits.. prove man's abstract thinking has no limit.

You made claim of no limits to man's abstract thinking. No limits is equivalent to unlimited. God too is unlimited. man and God have equal abstraction abilities.. each without limit.

I know that YOU know that YOU have painted yourself into a corner.. once again Squirm baby squirm LOL

    you did :D

i didn't make it up I quoted you..

A poor man does not become a billionaire with mere imagination. Equally, a God is not called into existence by man's will either..

BTW, billionaire's money is not unlimited. You comparing God's infinite power to a billionaires money? Your concept of the infinite seems very finite to me :D

and abstract thinking is the sole domain of the theists? :D

  9. Abstract thinking is the norm in its natural state.

This world is built on specifics.

I said that we are equals with God in our natural state.

There was no "fall of man" per se. Rather, "man" is the Son of God after hitting rock bottom. That is, when the Son of God began thinking in specifics, he "fell" to become earth, creeping things, and man...anything and everything of time, space or form.

    So "man" is the fall.

Abstract thought returns the mind to its home. If left to itself, the mind would naturally seek its home.

It takes effort to maintain a specifics oriented thought system. And it's very tiring.

All "doing" maintains a specifics oriented thought system...an endless stream of perceptive judgments from morning till its time to sleep again.

  10. The speed of light is finite. God can't do any better than that? :)
