Let's put it all together. Here is the full passage: Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[d]; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one." Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?" "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God." Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'[e]? If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came â and the Scripture cannot be broken â what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'? Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." ~ John 10:25-38, Holy Bible First off, who is Jesus talking to? He is talking to the Pharisees - the high teachers of the law who knew everything about the old testament and become proud and boastful cause they followed the letter of the law (too bad they did not follow the spirit of the law). Focus on this verse: 'Is it not written in your Law, I have said you are gods? If he called them 'gods' to whom the word of God came...' In other words 'gods' in this verse specifically refers to the PROPHETS. If you remember from old testament, the prophets are the ones the Lord God spoke to (the word of God came to them), and the prophets in turn told everyone else. So Jesus is essence saying: 'You Pharisees who supposedly know the old testament inside out, you had no problem with the Prophets being called 'gods' (lowercase 'g'), and you being teachers of the law have obviously heard of the coming Messiah in the prophecies, so then why do you have issue with me because I say I am the savior? (the Scripture cannot be broken, it was already prohesized a savior would come). Then Jesus goes on to say: 'Now if you do not believe I am the savior, there is an easy way to test - just look to see if I do the works of my Father.' Of course the Pharisees didn't even try to see if he was the saviour or not, they just saw Jesus as a threat to their power - they were the Teachers of Law and had power over the masses.
Yes, it's possible to just think and become a "router" among a web of minds. But that only works for open minds, so-to-speak. Typing is for those minds who have isolated themselves into thinking they are just bodies. Testing the limits of limitedness, some of these are open to consider their unlimitedness. For these "limited", they allow themselves to hear only through ears. They allow sight only through eyes. They allow thinking only through brains. Hence, there is an intellectual-physical point of contact to restore normal communication. This is because you have required it. It is not really physical. It is equivalent to coming into a dream to speak to dream figures on their own terms, in ways they can grasp. Typing, is allowed by dream figures who allow mind-to-mind communication to proceed without mental blocks. Who then is typing? Do the fingers really exist? Not according to the typist. There is no physical. It is all mind, all the time. What appears to be physical is an image in the mind. The physical is used to block communication...in its original inception. But it's purpose can be changed to restore communication. With this purpose, and this purpose only, it "lives", and does not die. The intellectual process is not normal for a natural mind. But it is requisite for minds that have chained themselves down to intellectual processes...blinding themselves to reality. Now must the intellectual process be converted to serve reality, rather than fantasies and wishes. You dream of spiritually evolving to supra consciousness just short of reality. That is a wish...a fantasy. So be it...for you. Dream on. The secret is that typing is more for the education of the typist, who is simply sharing what he-she is learning...as a way to learn. In this case, the typist is learning that he-she is not different from Jesus. Nor is anyone else for that matter. Jesus
Brother, you and the leaders you represent are today's Pharisees. You have told us that "gods" refers to earthly rulers, ie. kings. Now you tell us that it refers to "prophets" only. Is this what you call "let's put it all together"? I have already put it together for you. "Gods" makes me the Son of God, and makes me out to be God, along with "all" the sons of the "Most High". It's clear that all of your 'putting together' is to maintain, as teachers of scripture, your power over the masses. How is this different from oppressing the poor? They are "poor" because they think they are men! What could be more poor than what must die? You refuse to include me among my brethren, who are all gods. And not many gods, but one god, for we are "one". First, you separate out my brethren and call them "men" while you call me "God". Then, you separate out my brethren and call them "prophets" while you call me the "savior". Brother, I am not unlike anyone. I thought I was a man. I was mistaken. So are you. Every brother is a savior to every other brother. And what you think of the least of my brethren, you are mistaken if you think they are not your savior, just as I am. I say, let my brothers go free. But you bind them down with your interpretations of scripture...making it up as you go along, as shown above. Jesus
You are saying that I am flip-flopping on the definition of 'gods.' Don't nitpick - 'gods' is a GENERAL term, those who are in positions of power. If you know anything about history, you would know that this GENERAL term includes kings AND high priests and prophets. Actually in Jeruaslem those days, the high priests actually had more power than the governors. I say 'gods' refers to PROPHETS in John 10 because it says: 'TO WHOM THE WORD OF GOD CAME' "Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'[e]? If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came..." ~ John 10, Holy Bible This is a clear reference to prophets because in old testament God only spoke thru prophets But of course in New Testament our sins were atoned for with Jesus on the cross so our relationship with God is restored and we all have access to God
Are you an Athiest that has come to a final conclusion? 'God does not exist, and I rest my case.' Or are you an Atheist that says: 'I do not believe God exists right now, but I am continuing to search for him.' Big difference "And you shall seek me, and find me when you shall search for me with ALL your heart." - Jeremiah 29:13
Ah. And who do prophets speak to? Do prophets speak to "all" or, as you insist, to none? Fine prophet that would be! Haven't you heard what happens to prophets who don't tell all? You are flip-flopping. You drew our attention to the old scripture in order to 'put it all together' into context. Now you draw our attention to only the new scripture, changing your tune once again by isolating. Now it means "prophets" where before, the reference was "clearly" to "rulers of the world". And you base this on the phrase, "to whom the word of God came". Why then did you use the "rulers of the world" context to 'put it all together'? So are we to understand that to whom the word of god comes, these are all gods, sons of the most high...the same as I am? And yet, you call the bible the "word of god", and it has come to you. What now? Here again, you have maneuvered to maintain your position of power as interpreter of scripture. For you have told us that there are but a select few who recieve the word of god, who therefore must be gods. And in this way you seek more power than the governors! You seek to flatter me, by including me among prophets and kings, who alone, are gods. In this way you poison the well. And out of this poisonous well there emerges, miraculously, some special teacher over the masses. Not me. You and the rest of the Pharisees. For you will interpret for them what I say. With your left hand you point them to this verse and that, as well as any devil, while your right hand collects the cash. You are like an illusionist, misdirecting attention in order to conceal the facts. I was accused of making myself out to be God. That was the context. They called that "blasphemy". You make me out to be a pain receptionist so you can have access to the Kingdom as non-gods. I tell you truly, there is only God in the Kingdom. Pray you do not hear the word of God! For then you must be the Son of God, and make yourself out to be God. Jesus
John 10: 34Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'[e]? 35If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God cameâand the Scripture cannot be brokenâ The ones who are called Gods are those upon whom the word of God came. Not just the rulers, the judges or the prophets. Jesus did not use this sarcastically, God forbid, he sproke the truth and it was written down clearly. You are Gods. Let he who has ears hear.
Because you equate judgement with damnation, you don't see how God could possibly judge himself. The process of separating the wheat from the chaff, or the goats from the sheep is a judgement process performed by the Son of God for the "prodigal son" part of his own mind. What is separated out are the thoughts that convince the prodigal son that he is not the Son of God. These are the "chaff" and the "goats". Though untrue, these thoughts make up the prodigal son's world, and determine all his experiences within it. He wanders in a world built entirely upon thought. His unreal thoughts give rise to an unreal world...but he believes it is real. The prodigal son cannot tell the difference between real and unreal. And every time he "judges" or interprets what he sees, he makes more conflict, more darkness, and more confusion. Now he must call for help. His world is built upon faulty judgement. And this causes him to lose his way and wander. He is unable to tell the difference between a true thought and a false thought, and must relinquish his judgement processes. The prodigal son interprets, unaware that he is unable to interpret. He thinks he knows. And this gives rise to conflict. Each one interprets without knowledge, and mistakes its interpretation for knowledge. When the prodigal son gives the judgment process over to the Son of God still within him, then is he able to find his way back out of a labyrinth of faulty thoughts. This means that the prodigal son must allow the knowledge of the Son of God to guide him home. "Rise, O God", is clearly a call to the resurrection. The resurrection is for every prodigal son who will finally accept that he is the Son of God who is still one with the Father. Resurrection dawns upon every prodigal son who "dies" to every other identity but the Son of God. Then he will live. Till then, each prodigal will "die like mere men", and will fall "like every other ruler". To "rise up" is to be awakened by a correct judgment about the world. And the fact is, the entire world belongs to the Son of God. His inheritance is his mind. And by this mind, he has made all nations. They shall all pass away as he changes his mind about who he is. He is no longer the prodigal son. Jesus
