what is your feeling about IB

  1. In a word, yes.

I came to this conclusion after years of my own complaining, whining, bitching, etc etc caused me to have severe health problems (I mean life threatening). You wouldn't believe the temper I got. How bent out of shape I got. How frustrated I got. And of course, nothing ever worked out fairly; at least in my estimation.

The truly miraculous thing is: when I stopped worrying about this kind of stuff, it ceased happening. Yes, I'm speaking of very spiritual stuff here. 99% of you will think I'm a nut, that's ok, I am.

Until you can let go of what you can't control, you'll never be free. Complaining about what the specialists do, or the options exchanges, or the SEC, or IB, or whoever; is nothing but an indication of a need for control. Feed that need from sources inside yourself, and your life will become a masterpiece.

  3. Pfft. Such high sounding nonsense. So you read a couple of self-help books and now you think you can figure out that trying to resolve an issue with your broker is "nothing but an indication of a need for control"? Get over yourself.

Btw, was your rant about J Hershey getting the boot also "nothing but an indication of a need for control"?

well then, i'm a nut, too, because i agree with the spiritual part of your post.

as to the point of this thread, i'm very happy with IB, they have yet to annoy me in any meaningful way, see no reason to change. the API is also a definite winning point for me.

no doubt i will now be accused of being a paid shill or maybe even something worse.

  6. If you practiced some of that self proclaimed spirituality, you'd know that you have not been and would never be accused of being a paid shill for IB. I know you well enough to know you are not, and you know me well enough to know that I would not think that of you.

Also, no one asked you or anyone else, to leave IB. I wonder why you keep suggesting otherwise? Do you feel you SHOULD leave? I certainly don't think you should leave. Can you show any post of mine ever in which I suggested anyone else leave IB? You know you cannot. I would never ask anyone else to leave.

I understand that you have been happy with that broker and my having been lied to by them is clearly not meaningful to you. So I can't imagine why you would leave them. I'm mystified by your persistent suggestion otherwise.

I understand that you want to say you're happy with them, and no one could quarrel with that! I don't. You also want to support them, because you're happy with them, and I don't quarrel with that, either.

I had a different experience from yours, so I have reported it so other customers will know what can happen, what did happen to me, and what can happen there, and I also have been trying to close my account with them since they told me lies yesterday morning.

But they aren't letting me have my money. They have a rule which they claim is based on the Patriots' Act, which they say prevents them from sending out your money to you for ten biz days after they receive it, even if it's wired funds, cash that they received from you. Their site does say they apply this rule to everyone. So I'm stuck with an open account there and with their having most of my money for some additional time.

I had only recently opened the account and had been sending in funds from different brokerage houses to bring the funds up to a high amount there, so a lot of the money I had there only arrived there recently. And, I can't get it out of there for a long time, speaking from a trader's point of view. Ten business days may not be so long in the spiritual scheme of things, however.

  8. I've been on a search for a new Futures trading firm. I'm looking for recommendations to explore, so I'd be interested in knowing which you feel are better. Feel free to PM me rather than post the names, if you prefer. Thanks!

All I can say is TFB. You took the account opening tests and agreed that no matter what happens, its your fault. You want a broker that will kiss your ass, go pay $25 or more.

Without IB my size would be too small to be profitable, comissions would eat me alive.

  10. an accomplished trader, refuses to participate in ET any longer. He now even does not read it. This place has become a pathetic place for losers of all kinds venting their moronic problems here and for moderators, obviously also losers, who boost their egos and push their agendas here in a way that is increasingly pathetic too.

OK, I am done for this week too. Or perhaps even this month.
