It is a bad ass! Bigger, and am wanting to rid myself of the 4s anyway. Am hearing it's a real deal step in the right direction vs the last 5 and 4. Would leave my ipad at home, and imagine I'd use this everywhere. And living where I do, and wearing shorts often, this new iPhone is light, and will be very welcome. Am very much looking forward to this one! And will actually be able to send a text without my fat thumbs misspelling everything I type.

I'd LOVE to have one for that feature, but mainly to remind me to eat every three hours. I know that sounds funny, but I'd like to have $1 for the times I've gotten busy, and was five hours since eating last. I could buy a new Maserati, lol! I'd do the watch for fitness, and bodybuilding, but other than that, no.

Exactly. If I had to have the phone on me, the watch would be completely worthless to me.

Ok, if I could wear the watch, and not need the phone on me, I'd love that in the gym. Reason is, I keep a detailed log, and need to know the weights and reps from the week before, so I can beat that number, plus log current numbers for the coming week. THAT would be nice for me! Wearing it out to a club, date, etc., I doubt I'd do.

I just use the alarm feature within the clock app on my phone to set up various alarms throughout the day at 3 hour intervals. It works great!

They need a "free" or low-cost 3G circuit in these watches to update your w/o to the cloud. Like the Kindles had for downloading ebooks. Tethered to the phone is stupid.

I have Concept2 rowers all over the house. It's inescapable. Fasted cardio at waking. Pisses off Mrs. convexx as the things are noisy. At 1pm I hit the creek trail (3.5miles).

Based upon my experience, the best part about a watch like the Apple Watch is that you don't have to pull out your phone for all of those texts that require no response like "Thanks", "Ok", etc. or for any texts that don't require an immediate response like, "Sounds good, just text me when you get over there". It's so convenient to feel the slight vibration on your wrist, look down, and see that text message on the screen without having to pull out your phone, swipe to unlock it, go your texts, etc.

But...... for everything else, it sucks because you STILL have to pull out your phone to type a response back. Yeah, the watch might have speech recognition on it, but we all know how unreliable that is. And if the message is more than a short sentence, you can't even read the whole message on the watch, so again, you end up pulling out your phone no matter what.

I actually like the idea of having an intraday reminder as I literally forget a meal, and often. I looked up a watch app, and found this: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=161700213
Notice the vets there took a dump on the op's idea, but I can actually see it myself. One made a joke about stopping sex w the wife to eat, and that's just dumb. I'd not use the watch when home, lol. And, of course, others in that thread are against eating frequent, small meals. Ok.. I used to mod at a bodybuilding board, and literally stopped posting recently due to the lack of anyone actually listening. Moreover, since 99% of the bodybuilding boards out here have wannabe's posting, I recommend most taking the advice with a grain of salt; unless the board is the real deal.*
Hate going o/t, but these guys out here eating two massive meals per day are beyond me. I'm not able to get down that much food, and will stick with what works for me. 6-8 small meals/day. Convexx may be able to shed medical light on why so many of these guys are getting at least some results eating like they do, but I just don't get how it's done. I take dietary enzymes with each meal as it is, in an attempt maximize absorption. Don't know how well I'd do trying that with two thanksgiving size meals, lol.

    * IMO, a board that's about training for bodybuilders: www.intensemuscle.com
Isn't a fast paced board, but that board does have the freaks posting.

Why can't these people figure out we don't want a tethered gadget like that? Without, I'd buy one day one. I HATE bringing my phone in the gym for fear of crushing it, so it stays in the car. Have seen so many phones fall from pockets, and even a few stepped on in gym.

What are you guys using for music? I'm getting tired of answering questions while resting between sets. Seems earbuds puts a stop to the "what do you eat, what steroids you use," etc., kind of junk. And can't believe some guys are brazen enough to ask what they ask in public.
