If you use MA's you will get "whipsaws" also. But for free.

A trading program is an empty box. The real important knowledge should come from the trader. So before breaking your head on which software to use, break your head on understanding the market and the basics of indicators. Your success will not depend from which program you use, but from how you use it. And the "how" is based on what you know from trading.

I know people who can do unbelievable things in Excel. But if I give you Excel you will never get there. Excel is a tool, just like a trading program is a tool. How the trader handles that tool will be by for the most decisive factor for success or failure.

  4. Understand that if you don’t know how to use a tool any tool is a waste.
But as a non programmer I’m looking for some tool that is less difficult to use eg. programming language , strategies can be experimented but need a tool that is
    1. No coding required
    2. Click of a button create a strategy
    3. No annual license fees
    4. Automate strategies atleast few with stop losses etc
    5. Trade ideas - not a great software and it is a rip off as there are high annual costs and software is not reliable for auto trading
    6. Avoid custom coding using developers as it gets expensive
You can always find strategies but need a flexible , easy robust tool for non programmers

  5. Multicharts - Easy language, MC can be used for auto trading , ticks many boxes but need programming knowledge , there are some softwares like BuildAlhpa which is a canned version of strategies that are customisable I think but haven’t tried as there is no free demo or trial period.
Amibroker is good for backtesting but auto trading makes it expensive to run and it needs 3rd party tools to make it usable for intra day -algo trading
Medved and loads of other softwares all tick few boxes but not fit for my purpose/ non programmer traders

  6. I have found MT5 a convenient platform to trade in Forex. It has inbuilt strategy tester and uses different programming languages for faster Back testing than any other platform.

  9. MT5 includes MQL5 wizard, with the help of this you don’t require any programming experience.
