Delphi - dear god no! C# you may want to try the new one. Leaps and bounds above what we had before. and about to release fully customizable Hotkeys
Memory Error 20years on then, thought that's why standalone no install required as Delphi didn't need runtimes, doh!! Just trade Index's since PDT not stocks, so sadly love to, but no use to me. I did pay for mine and still clicked adverts that's how great it was.
Yes, still got it thanks!! I used to code Delphi as easier to deploy 20odd years back, but VB6 talks better with Excel so switched over. ( never mention Word, hate word )
This is OT here but I loved Delphi. Maybe 'cuz I used Turbo Pascal way back when. Which was amazing for its time. Wrote several games in TP. Wrote my own windows-like system for several sets of commercial software. Pre-windows times. Ah memories.
Yeah sorry for OT!! I messed with Turbo Pascal aswell, 1995 ish! These days no games, just boring business software well until this year kinda dead these days as is everything. Bring back 6502 and 6809 and 68000 much better times.
blast to the past completely forgot about programs such as power basic, pascal, delphi, but not fortran, tel, and some others lol
One issue I have with amibroker is that they exclusively run automated trades through IB which has its own limitation for small cap.
Hi, Im new to ID trading but have been a position trader for 7+ years and have grown a portfolio to a decent size. I have been exploring ID softwares, Charting tools for the last 3 months. I subscribed to tradingview for charts and some screeners, used trade-ideas for about 2 months. I got to know about Amibroker in the last few days and have been exploring it. It is cumbersome as im still getting my head around , programming seems to be less complex compared to Metatrader and similar softwares but i have a steep learning curve. Trade ideas provide filters, alerts and there is no need for coding. Although it is easier but i have my doubts about the quality, no.of alerts you get in an alert window. Moreover it is quite expensive as it is a monthly/yearly subscription whereas softwares like Amibroker are only a one time cost and no ongoing costs etc if it is for swing trading, ID trading im not sure as there maybe some ongoing costs or nil. By creating automated strategies, backtested enough does anyone use Amibroker to trade through IBKR?
I had it before but didn´t like it´s database structure or i did not understand it. I am now using Motivewave. It has some studies i did not find anywhere else, especially Fibo/Pivots.
