  1. Thanks for the variety of suggestions..

any thing of collectors value .is out . as that is a speculative play and not intrinsic value

Tobacco.. V diff to store. usually u recall heavy smokers store it in a freezer...

Ammo. . will degrade .over time.. gunpowder is a dessicant...

guns.. yes.. this is 100%. will hold value over time. I bot a 22 lr ruger for 180. i think I can sell it for 220 . in 10 years. later..
    atleast held some value..

If u see what Jim rogers. is predicting and future Dollars will get worthless.. the idea of buying fertile land with water access seems to be the way to go.
I also read. PECANs are in great demand and only grown in USA

how about a fruit plantation. .something with some low maintenance overhead.. buy and hold.. or even timber.. land.. let the timber grow wild.. slow and steady..

one suggestion about Single malt whisky.. that also is dfficult.. the bottles.. have u noticed. if u keep them for many years.. the cork disintegrates.. yes they do go up in value.. i buy johnnie walker gold label. single cost me 79$.

however a 12 case is 853.. a discount of 10$. if u buy 12. that is like 2 years consumption for me.. he he.. my money in the bank is getting me ~1%.... a 10% ROI .over 2 yrs. not bad eh..?? also. if the price of gold label goes up. then I make more..hmm. i think. ill pick up a few cases..

i agree but i won't throw away thousands on education but rather store books on various skills and learn them myself. education is a ripoff. in bad times one has to have many skills like car, computer, house, electricity, gas, even cooking and others that folks pay money to avail. learning how to make half way decent beer or whiskey and selling at discount prices might be another skill that can get some under the table bucks to keep the vehicle rolling on.

Further, i would buy a piece of land like farm and learn how to grow stuff and even make an underground housing like a two room bunker etc. Btw, do not forget a gun and atleast half kilos of bullets, just in case ;-)

    :D  :p

  6. Since real estate is in the shitter, buy land that can be farmed (corn, soybeans ect) and lease the land to someone who wants to use it. Lots of people do that here in Minnesota. Condo's are dirt cheap here too compared to what they used to be. Buy a few condo's and rent them out, raise the rents as necessary. If you don't want to be a landlord hire a property management company to take care of stuff giving them royalties or a fixed fee. Although in an all out hyper inflation scenario I don't know how well your tenants would do. I personally like the leasing farm land idea.

  7. We should start a Brothel, religous orginization & sell bibles. You offer sex false hope & and a cult of slaves. Judging by history this is the way to go.
