What is Momentum trading?

Hello,

I have found on this forum that some interesting traders are trading "momentum"? What is that?

I guess it's not related to the momentum indicator.

Simply one of about a dozen defined aspects of an overall trading plan/strategy. The opposite of "fading" the markets. When in a short term rally, buying first, when in a down market, selling first.

Before asking on ET, i googled it and read one of those first links. After reading some stuff implying MACD signals, I decided that it was certainly not the "momentum" I was looking for. In fact it was...
