Sure. But rather than focusing on small specific studies look at the big studies. The human body is complicated and scientific studies are tricky. But there are some universal patterns that seem to work: 1. Not too much carbs. Not too much fat. A good amount of Protein 2. Fiber is pretty good for you 3. Plants are great to eat. Meat isn't terrible to eat. 4. Total calories matter 5. Processed vs Natural (this is the biggest issue in my opinion)
There's apparently a study called the China Study that is the largest study of people's nutrition in the world.
I haven't read any studies that "disprove" it. As I understand it, the old studies are being criticized for poor design. When looking at vegetarians vs your average person on an American diet that includes meat the studies failed to account for “healthy user bias”. The vegetarians were eating that way because they were trying to be healthy. These people were health conscious, exercised, and avoided alcohol and tobacco. The meat eaters were your average Joe who smoked and drank daily and never skipped dessert. The studies were really showing that alcohol, tobacco, and refined carbohydrates are bad for you. Go figure. https://chriskresser.com/does-red-meat-increase-your-risk-of-death/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35106434/ https://tim.blog/2009/10/05/gout/
This had me scratching my head at first but now I see the Bitcoin versus Fiat angle. Very interesting. Not sure how healthy an all meat diet could be but theres no question we should be limiting grains and processed oils. BTC aside, purchasing, primarily, locally and organically grown/raised produce would solve a myriad of issues in the modern world.Just the removal of transport of 'affordable' goods from the conglomerates would change the entire landscape.
Spot on. Also important to remember that scientific studies are commissioned by the industries. If youve ever wondered why 'science' is telling you how good one thing is and how bad another competing thing is and then the opposite 6 months later, its because theres billion of dollars on the line and they need propaganda to back them. That sounds a bit too conspiratorial, but you do need to keep your eyes open with this stuff.
Grains have to be refined to be edible. Sprouting them before the refining process helps but they’re still bad. There’s just better sources of nutrients than grains. I just don’t eat them.
