thanks for your reply, it certainly makes sense even if it wasn't what I was looking for. I think you are right, the answers to what I asked will perhaps guide you if you choose between MT4 and Ninja, but perhaps not much else...

Are you mainly interested in Futures?

no, first off I asked more to understand the criteria retail users look at. My own experience is more on the institutional side ad thus I was curious of the difference.
Personally, I am interested in a platform for pair-trading... I have seen little support for that... then again i can not use it if I do find it as I am too restricted from my employer in order to do any kind of serious trading.

You are welcome. I would try to focus on those traders who have 7+ years of active and continuous experience. Just like marriage, if you endured seven years + of pleasure/pain, you may have some valuable input.

Is Real Tick is bound to Lightspeed brokerage or can you use the platform with other brokerages?

What to me is very important is that the buttons you click on (like Buy Market, Sell Market, Buy Bid, Sell Bid, Cancel all, Reverse...) should be BIG ENOUGH.

One of the platforms I use (Firetip) has very small buttons leading to wrong trades as I sometimes click the wrong button as they are very small. I don’t understand how they could make these buttons so small.

Size of the buttons is 28 mm wide and 4 mm high!!!! it is each time a big job try ing to click on the correct button, especially if I have to be quick. And they call it a PROFESSIONAL platform??????

For Futures you can use it with different FCMs.
