Right, if you are on TV or make your living from your looks, then it is excusable. Otherwise, you are pussy.

Pretty soon we will all be surrogates:

I saw this article elsewhere on ET:

    http://www.singularity2050.com/2010/01/the-misandry-bubble.html

It is incredibly interesting. I don't know how much I agree or disagree with it (if I agreed with it I would say it is must reading), but one thing is for sure, it will leave you thinking...

The whole notion of alpha and beta males seems tenous at best to me, and yet it clearly exists in the animal kingdom, hence it must exist to some degree in us. In the animal kingdom it is all about intimidation and fighting to get other males to submit, so how do we define "alpha" in human societies where rule of law and "no man need be afraid of another" mean? To many loose definitions, but still worth cogitating...

  5. That's a terrific article. Primate studies (of the non-human kind) show remarkable..."mercenariness"...on the part of females. Males, too, of course, but our cultural perspective expects that.

Never could understand how men die younger, work harder, and ultimately have fewer choices, yet it's somehow a "man's world"...

Only if you make it a man's world, and it can still be done. The rewards for the "old model of honor and chivalry" are gone. It is rare to find a woman not infected to some degree with US societal degradation, if you have a good one, better hang onto her with both hands.

  7. My 13 year old's a good student and very interested in what college is like. There's a large university (25k students) not far from our house so I took her there to look around. At the end of the day there were two interesting things she commented about:

    (1) She wanted to know why there are a lot more girls than boys. (I was suprised she noticed)
    (2) She wanted to know why all the white kids hung out together, the black students kept together, the asians, hispanics etc. (I wasn't surprised she noticed -- it was glaringly obvious).

I really didn't have any good answers for her. I told her to ask her mother.

  8. How about this explanation:

Girls are more motivated to go to college because they go to find a rich husband. Either their parents pay for school or their future rich husband will help them.

Guys go to get better paying jobs but they have to get a huge amount of debt these days in order to go to college. The debt scares them away because they will have to pay that off in addition to the fleeting wants of a beautiful wife after graduation.

I'm curious what kind of degradation you are talking about? and compared to what era of US history? When was society ever better?
