so in price action you do not look at the past bars: do you consider only the last bar printed? do you not look at price action in past periods also known as context. The moving average shows you in glance the context.
if the 200 day ma is sloping upward then it is better to wait to see if it comes back up. if the 200 ma is sharply upward and all the other shorter moving averages are SHARPLY down then you can look to go long. do you look only at 200 ma?
Your post "show me the lag". By definition anything past is lagging. Even the 5 min is lagging in ref to the 1 min. Lagging is not necessarily bad, but you have to acknowledge what it is in order to make an informed decision.
where do moving averages show reversals? do not consider crossovers...there are many other ways to use moving averages
