What instrument tracks gold and trades in volume during overnight?

Is there any liquid instrument that tracks gold during the Europe and Asia sessions?

There are many, which ones are you referring to that specifically track GOLD?


Perhaps actual Gold (ZG) or E7?

 

Are those the symbols for the electronic sessions because I see 3 gold future contracts on NYMEX and none of them are those symbols.

 

By the way I'm looking for something rather liquid. Looking at ZG at night doesn't seem that liquid, is there something that trades on a European exchange perhaps that tracks spot gold and is more liquid?

 

you need to go out to the june contract to find any volume. and, yes, it's on teh nymex

 

You are better off trading 6E JUN, EuroFx futures.

GOLD trades like a constipated donkey @ night.

 

Thanks. Where is E7? I don't see that defined on CME. That looks like emini EuroFX, not gold.

 

The active gold contract is GC. 100 ounces of gold. June is the contract where the volume is.

Ah that looks more like it. GC has much more overnight volume than ZG. Thanks. What is ZG? The emini gold?
