In other words, more than technical analysis. Depends on your definition of "big-time" of course. For scalping/HFT/daytrading maybe technical analysis is enough.

The really big money guys are not watching any bullshit wiggly-squiggly indicator lines. They're more concerned about covering their tracks so as not to tip their hands too early. In essence then, they're really trying to "paint" a nice picture for you hoping you'll take the chark...uh I mean chart bait.
Paul Rotter (aka "The Flipper") said he used CCI, OBV and the order book. I think he also said something like you need to understand the order book to be successful with futures.
