the internet burst... state govts were in the midst of a revenue crisis.
The Fed engineered a real estate bubble.

Bush sucked and spent too much. But, when he took over, the economy was either in recession or on the edge depending on who you talk to.
Revenues were tanking because the tech sector was imploding.
Those of us who were trading at the time... know the truth not your leftist bullshit.

  2. Truth-Bush turned a 200 billion dollar budget surplus into a 1.2 trillion dollar budget deficit

Bush turning a 200 billion dollar budget surplus into a 1.2 trillion dollar budget deficit had more to do with his unfunded tax cuts, unfunded wars, unfunded medicaid program and unfunded government expansion, not the above bullshit you just posted

Truth - Congress turned an almost balanced budget into a 1.2 trillion dollar budget deficit. During the last 2 years of the Bush administration Democrats controlled both houses of congress, as they did during the first 2 years of the Obama administration. It is also true that Republicans controlled both houses of congress during the middle 4 years of Bush's two terms. Which proves what I've often said -- both parties suck.

There was never a budget surplus -- the federal government has borrowed additional money every year for decades.

It' amazing how many people believe that the president writes and passes the budget bills.

  6. True, but one sucks more then the other. If Gore had been President there would have been no Iraq war,no Bush tax cuts,no Bush medicare expansion ,no 1.2 trillion dollar deficit and no doubling of the national debt

  7. Unemployment was lower under bush than under clinton and clinton had the tech boom during his presidency. Bush had 9/11 to deal with, the tech bubble bursting and other crap, so even though Bush had alot working against him, he still got unemployment lower than clinton could with the wind at his back.

In 2001 when the terrorist flew planes into building on our soil, did you demand the president do something about it, or were you rallying (alone) that he should sit on his hands and do nothing?

    Thats right, now STFU.

I see how you operate. If there are deficits under Republicans, it's their fault. If there are deficits under Democrats, it's the fault of the Republicans when they were last in power. This is called affirmative action for Democrats.

Lots of Democrats voted for Medicare part D. Including Saint Ted Kennedy. For that matter, lots of Democrats voted for the Iraq war, the Patriot Act, and the TSA. So don't waste my time telling me how superior your scum sucking party is.

Bush On Jobs: The Worst Track Record On Record

    By WSJ Staff

President George W. Bush entered office in 2001 just as a recession was starting, and is preparing to leave in the middle of a long one. That’s almost 22 months of recession during his 96 months in office.

His job-creation record won’t look much better. The Bush administration created about three million jobs (net) over its eight years, a fraction of the 23 million jobs created under President Bill Clinton‘s administration and only slightly better than President George H.W. Bush did in his four years in office.

Here’s a look at job creation under each president since the Labor Department started keeping payroll records in 1939. The counts are based on total payrolls between the start of the month the president took office (using the final payroll count for the end of the prior December) and his final December in office.

Because the size of the economy and labor force varies, we also calculate in percentage terms how much the total payroll count expanded under each president. The current President Bush, once taking account how long he’s been in office, shows the worst track record for job creation since the government began keeping records.

  10. Yes some democrats voted for some of those things, but more republicans did and the effort for all those things were led by The Republican President.

Again,if Gore was president there would have been no unfunded Iraq war,no unfunded Bush tax cuts,no unfunded Medicare drug program ,no doubling of the national debt and no turning a 200 billion dollar surplus into a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit
