I use free realtime yahoo finance quotes for S&P index. I buy when the index dips, then sell when it pops a little above my buy price, or vice versa for shorting. This is all I do. How do you trade. Please share.
estrader - I use a combination of MA crossovers, stochs and my own "feel" as to where the market is trending for my open. For the exit I have a 1 to 2 point target depending on market conditions, and a -1.5 hard stop. I place orders to buy at the bid, and sell orders at the ask and I find that the probability of not getting filled is low enough to justify the risk/reward. I'm not doing very well with this method, breakeven the last two months so when I get a chance I work on developing a statistical model that does not require any trading decisions by me.
LMAO Here is what I use. The exchanges actually pay me to recieve quotes. I then look at the newspaper in the Astrology section to see where my moon is. Then, I sacrifice a chicken [BTW, I snap the chicken's neck myself, and if my last trade was a loser, I take out my samurai and in one swift stroke decapitate it] toss some dice, and if the roll of the die is even I sell and if it is odd I buy [I use to do it the other way around, but then someone shared and I was set straight] This is what I do...Please share some more strategies... nitro
nitro, what is the reasoning for going long on odd? Also, I do not recommend changing any procedure based on previous win or loss. Do it the same way each time and the wins will come around. If you change based on previous trade, you run the risk of non random performance. The only difference between you and me is, I'm serious. But I guess if I'm gonna dish out this kind of crap to other traders and their systems, I'm gonna have to take it when you mock my system. But at any rate, why did you switch from short to long on odd?
I only ask because I switched also, and I was curious if it was for the same reason, but I'm not going to tell why I switched because it's a secret. But since you are only kidding, maybe you will tell me why you switched.
Nitro, You have really got this all wrong. It is Saturn that is the controlling factor...especially if you trade after hours. Also which newspaper do you read? You must really be more clear on your indicators. Now please excuse me for my tone brother....but as far as the sacrafice....do you anoit the die in the blood before you toss them? As far as probablities, do you bounce the die off of anything and at what velocity? This will effect the outcome....but if you use a good money management techniques to determine risk size you should be alright...just keep an eye on the Saturn alignment factor. Has anybody tried rubbing pigs blood all over their body before sitting down at the computer? I personnally have tried this and it is real good for trade enhancement. It just seems that I get a full eclipse in my trading results when I get the snapshot of my horiscope together with the saturn factor, while soaked in Pigs blood. Michael B.
