A baby is not a baby until it is viable apart from it's mother. So, no, I do not support infanticide. Gay marriage is not an issue for me, simply because it is not a lifestyle I would personally select does not mean it should be illegal, therefore if a man wants to marry another man, fine by me. Conservatives want a theocracy. Conservatives want a theocracy everywhere they exist. Sorry, no sale.
Those Muslims are a conservtive group. Where do Muslims rank in our political system. After all, conservative white guys in suits are approaching minority status. Besides if we write of the Muslims, kaput goes diversity and multi culutarlism
Bullshit! The Conservatives that founded the country intentionally separated Church and State. Many conservatives - like myself - don't want to see that separation removed.
He's never, ever been able to explain that and has been schooled a number of times on the issue. Like Ricter, however, he continues to believe in his fairy tale.
Sorry, but when you start with something like this that is so completely wrong, then I cannot continue reading the other points.
You apparently remain confused about your political orientation, so why don't you ponder what your fellow conservatives have to say on the subject. http://rightremedy.org/tracts/7 *In 1776, 11 of the 13 colonies required that one had to be a Christian to be eligible to run for political office. *In 1777, the Continental Congress voted to spend $300,000 to purchase Bibles for distribution in the nation. *Our DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE declares, "...the laws of nature and of nature's God... We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by the Creator with certain unalienable rights... appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions..." *The GETTYSBURG ADDRESS states "...this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom..." *94% OF THE WRITINGS OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF THE U.S. CONTAINED QUOTATIONS FROM THE HOLY SCRIPTURES. *THE STATE CONSTITUTIONS OF ALL 50 STATES MENTION GOD. *The NATIONAL ANTHEM written by Francis Scott Key (who was also director of the American Bible Society) says: "This be our motto - 'In God Is Our Trust'." *The motto, "In God We Trust" was adopted by Congress in 1956. It is inscribed on our coins and currency. *On that First "Thanksgiving", who do you think the people were giving thanks to? To God! *Our PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE declares that we are "...one nation, under God..." *The famous "Liberty Bell" has part of Leviticus 25:10 inscribed on it: "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."
Thomas Jefferson, as you know, was one of the Founding Fathers. All of your examples are irrelevant (at least to this argument), because all I was trying to prove was that the separation of church and state was supported by the original conservatives - those who founded the country. Was the reference to God removed from every instance? No, and that does not mean that there was no separation of church and state. Separation of church and state simply means there is no religion that influences government responsibility or action, and no government regulation on religious rights. The fact that we are a Christian country - founded as such and continued to be centered on such does not mean we are run by religious edicts. Phrases like "In God We Trust" on the currency do not prove your point. They simply acknowledge that we are a nation that is founded on a religion, not governed by it. You need to get a little deeper into the concept.
Yes, you are correct. When conservatives see something that is complete bullshit, we typically call it out. It's the liberal mentality that tries to argue the point - even after proven to be foolhardy.
Well bless your soul, you really are a conservative! In other words, anything that does not fit your already preconceived notion of what the world should look like is "bullshit". You are a nice guy Ivan, but you will be left at the station like your cohorts as the rest of the nation moves on. I sense you are younger than they are, however, and have time to adapt. That will be good for you. You strike me as a solid fella who is rooting for a losing team. A team that has, and must, lose every battle they fight.
