Maybe RCG can start with this. We'll just ignore that litle ol' $800,000,000,000 stimulus bill he pushed for and signed after spending the money Bush left for him. The Senate approved a $1 trillion-plus 2012 spending bill last Saturday in a flurry of year-end activity that was overshadowed by an ensuing confrontation over extending a payroll tax cut. The legislation, which sets the day-to-day budgets of 10 Cabinet agencies, locks in cuts that conservative Republicans won from the White House and Democrats this year. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/23/obama-spending-bill_n_1167976.html
response to RCG about the sophistication of the right.. actually... many of us had hoped that since America nominated a socialist: we hoped he might be a good one. 1. While not voting for him, we were hoping he would actually make some good reforms which would help take health care costs off of business by having the guts to tell the insurance lobby to go to hell and go right to single payer.. Epic fail... he decided to let pelosi sell out all americans to the insurance lobby. 2. We were hoping he would stimulate the economy the way he promised with a stimulus billed designed to remedy out aging infrastructure. once again fail. 3. We were hoping he would not raise taxes on the middle class... we got the biggest middle class tax hike in history. 4. We were hoping he would improve our standing in the world and make it safer for americans in the middle east. 5. We were hoping as a liberal he would work with Isreal to prevent Iran from getting the bomb. 6. We were hoping his administration would be transparent. 7. We were hoping that within 4 years our economy would be strong again. 8. We were hoping he would stop too big to fail and stand up to wall street. 9. We were hoping he would stop the Fed from debasing our currency. ...
Stimulus was needed, and it did stop the freefall. It may not have precipitated a reversal, but it did allow for a bottom.
The stimulus helped only marginally and was used mostly as a payback to Obama donors. The economy would have bottomed about the same time with out it. However, Obama's anti-business policies, regulations and EPA stranglehold on business has prevented a robust recovery and will probably send us into another recession in 2013 if not reversed by a Romney Presidency.
Indeed, Kamikaze pilots in WWII Japan wore badges of honor as well. So, too, do the suicide bombers in this current conflict. If that is the "badge of honor" you wish to wear, have at it.
Kamikaze pilot???? I don't see any relevance to BSAM's post but I do know any reference to Kamikaze's could only apply to the ill informed Obama loons like yourself.
