What has been ur experience with COACHING?

He wasn't a coach. He was a vendor without a viable product.

The more important question is why you believed you needed a coach in the first place, and, beyond that, why you found it necessary to pay for the services of several.

Do you have a thoroughly-tested and consistently-profitable trading plan? If so, why do you need a coach? If not, why not?

While it's true that "there is a seemingly endless queue of new and not so new traders who are willing to hand over their cash to these people", that's because there is an endless queue of new and not-so-new traders who don't want to do the work, who'd rather let somebody else make the calls. This relieves the "trader" from all responsibility, but that carries a price.

When wannabees who don't want to do the work of developing and implementing a robust trading plan practically beg these vendors to take their money, one can hardly blame the vendor for doing so.

    Picks and shovels.

There will always be those who assume responsibility for their trading lives and those who mill around waiting to be told what to do. Every wannabee is free to choose one path or the other.

I have always liked bird dogs better than kennel dogs. You know, ones who will get out and hunt for food rather than sit and yelp.

you don't know who he was so stop being a turd. coach/mentor/vendor it's all the same unless you want to waste your time arguing semantics. 99.9% cannot trade profitably themselves.

No it is not the more important question, only in your Mr $5 ebook selling mind. lol. The OP asked about people's experience with coaches. I will answer though - At the time I signed up to service I paid for I was not intra week profitable and I fell for the bravado and veneer of professionalism that the said vendor used to sell his snake oil service.

Yes I do thanks I have been consistently profitable for a while now. I don't need a coach. I certainly dont want your $5 ebook either.

this is one of the most ridiculous things I have EVER heard someone say on ET. Are you serious? If you saw someone accidentally drop their wallet in the street would you give it back to them? Wannabees practically begging vendors to take their money! you sound like a complete turd.

This has NOTHING to do with responsibility and everything to do with scamming coaches/mentors/vendors who know they cannot trade and mislead traders into believing they can.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Good luck with the $5 ebook plan.

    A. A coach, a mentor, and a vendor are not the same thing. You appear not to have read the thread.

    B. The more important question is why you signed up for a trading room -- much less several -- in the first place.

    C. Yes, it has everything to do with personal responsibility. No one is responsible for your failures but you, just as no one else is responsible for your successes. No one can be misled unless they are willing.

    D. There is no $5 ebook.

omfg. of course i haven't read the whole thread, if someone is clearly FOS then i just stop reading what they say. You obviously want to argue that coaches/mentors/vendors are different because you have a hidden agenda as one of them? whatever dude.

for the love of god. this is not the most important question only in YOUR head dude. I have already said I signed up to several services when I wasn't profitable. thats what unprofitable traders do (rightly or wrongly) they sign up to coaches/mentors/vendors, show me a novice trader here who hasnt.

I am in full agreement that each trader is ultimately responsible for his PNL. What I am talking about here is where a coach/mentor/vendor markets themselves with false promises of profitability, paints a picture that they are smashing the market, in other words they are deliberately misleading people who sign up for the service. They are scamming pure and simple.

Your argument is well if people are willing to be scammed then that's ok - sorry thats warped dude.

Another reputable ETer said you are selling a $5 ebook. Is he lying?

By the way are you in anyway a coach/mentor/vendor?

    A. If you haven't read the thread, then you appear to be looking for an opportunity to rant rather than contribute to the discussion.

    B. Unprofitable traders do not necessarily sign up for trading rooms. What do you suppose traders did before the internet?

    C. Again you don't understand the difference among a coach, a mentor and a vendor. Read the thread.

    D. Given that I'm not selling a $5 ebook, then, yes.

    E. I suppose I might be considered a coach as I work with those who are trying to develop trading plans. But as most traders prefer to be told what to do, this gives me a lot of free time to trade.

lol a quick google search reveals the elusive ebook. the post makes reference to a 'preview' and being able to purchase it.

oh wait that ebook. yeah I used to sell that, I dont sell it any more.

    busted.

If somebody is selling a free preview, that says more about the individual buying it than whoever is selling it. The buyer probably spends a lot of time in trading rooms.
