Tragic, but bad parenting that a child could access the weapon and fire it (it had to be loaded, a 2 Y/O would never be able to do so). Like if the parent left a loaded syringe of heroin lying on the table and the baby got access to it. Also, I do note that CNN is calling a fetus an "unborn child" when it fits the narrative.
O absolutely bad parenting. There’s bad parents everywhere though. America doesn’t have the market cornered on bad parenting.
Bad parents aren't "everywhere". They're certainly more common today than they were 20 years ago, that's for sure. I wonder why that is. And America has more than its fair share, in my opinion.
What metric are using to judge parents were bad 20 years ago? Teen pregnancy, smoking, drug use, crime, graduation rates…?
Firstly, I was careful (knowing how you'd ask me in advance) to clarify "in my opinion" to keep it subjective. Secondly, if I had to, I'd start with stuff like "children born out of wedlock" and "fatherless families" and stuff like that, you know - the destruction of the so-called "nuclear family". Divorces, alimony, and the like. https://ifstudies.org/blog/how-we-ended-up-with-40-percent-of-children-born-out-of-wedlock
