What happens to your body when you eat oatmeal everyday

  1. May not apply to your situation but that type of thing happens to many people who suddenly dump sugar and switch over to some of the artificial sweeteners. Happened to me and I could not figure out what the hell was going on. Started going seagull at times. I deconstructed the problem and a bit and did some research on the net, and sure nuff. Tis a well known problem. Wham. Stop using that shiite, and the problem is fini instantly.

  2. Double serving of oatmeal with either blueberries or apple slices every morning for close to ten years.
    Love it

  3. I found the article troubling, since oats figure prominently in my diet. And so, I contacted a local scientist who heads McGill University's Office for Science and Society. Their job is to separate sense from nonsense:

    https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/

He advised that EWG is a disreputable organization whose product is fear. The more scares it creates, the more subscribers it gets, along with funding from the organic industry. And, true to form, just as the article shows, they often report numbers in units that seem larger (i.e., ppb rather than ppm).

According to the good doctor, there is absolutely no evidence that trace amounts of glyphosate in food cause any harm and, as EWG itself admits, they are well below regulatory agency limits. So they fabricate their own limits. "It is all nonsense."

He further pointed out that our food comprises thousands of compounds with more than 99% occurring naturally, and many of which are more toxic than glyphosate. He said, for example, that mycotoxins are formed by molds and can be detected in cereals. They are far more toxic than glyphosate. But they are usually present in such negligible amounts that they present no harm.

He concluded by telling me to keep eating my oats...whatever kind. :)

  4. I just use some raw honey to sweeten. Seems it was just the oats being too raw/undercooked. No issues now that I nuke them a bit longer

  5. When I first started weaning myself off of sugar, I used to sweeten my oatmeal with stevia. But for years now, I've been avoiding sweeteners altogether, and find that I really enjoy the taste of unsweetened oats and oat bran. Just don't try to get between me and my unsweetened baking cocoa.

Usually eat oatmeal 2 to 3 times a week for breakfast when I’m not traveling. Started back in my late 30’s to help control cholesterol.

Thought, if I’m eating it for health, need to keep it healthy and avoid all the syrup, sweeteners etc. Started putting ground black pepper on it.

Now I crave it. Everyone says it’s crazy.

  8. No it doesn’t. It’s General Mills, Pillsbury, Cargil propaganda.
There’s no peer reviewed independent studies to substantiate that claim.
Oatmeal will spike your blood sugar, that damages your arteries.
Check your blood sugar before a bowl of oatmeal and one hour prior to eating it you will see.

I think allergist probably do not care about EWG. Thus, if someone believes something they've eaten for many years without any problems has suddenly been causing them allergies...

Go see an allergist to determine if a specific food is causing them an allergy.

That's what I did even though I do not know if the processing of the Oatmeal had changed. I even tried different types of Oatmeal to determine if it was a particular brand or type of oatmeal...

    Similar like allergy response.

Regardless, the itchy eyes, running noses stopped within one week of me stop eating Oatmeal but I'm perfectly OK with that when I replaced it with Polenta. Simply, I won't go back to eating Oatmeal but a blood test plus allergy test can determine if you're having an allergic response and to what.

I have had allergist in France and Canada come to the same conclusion...it was the Oatmeal.

Yet, I had mainly eaten Oatmeal all those years for three things...the fiber, protein and energy it gave me for 1 1/2 hours of hard core training. Polenta alone doesn't replace all that but other food sources in combo with Polenta do replace what I lost after I stopped eating Oatmeal.

Also, I believe that new allergies that show up in ones life after 40 years old when it didn't exist prior...it's a warning sign that something is wrong with the immune system. You then need to be very careful about becoming infected with a disease and being around someone that is ill from an infection.
