In terms of exchange rate, it would depend on a lot of things, mainly what the government is going to do to convert the CAD to USD. If everything is run smoothly, all of the outstanding units of CAD will be converted to USD at the existing exchange rate and CAD will cease to exist just like all of those countries who joined EU and adopted the euro currency.

Would there be a push for the exchange rate in terms of higher demand for USD? I don't think so. I mean a country's currency is not like a stock; yes it does have some elements of a stock to it but it's not a stock. Its exchange rate relative to another currency is not solely determined by the country's "profitability" and "demand" like the stock of a company. One of the main principles governing exchange rate is the concept of purchase power parity in that exchange rate. If Canada is really assimilated into the US, there would be no change to the relative purchase power of the two countries so there would be no changes to the exchange rate in terms of purchase power parity. In terms of the changes in the exchange rate in terms of the increase in "demand" for the USD, that would also not take place as the demand for the USD vs the CAD is already reflected in the current exchange rate. The mere conversion of the CAD to the USD at the ongoing exchange rate will not all of sudden somehow increase that demand.

I can't reply to something that starts with outright falsehood. Canada has a military equivalent to Italy or Spain.

Its traitor talk to even entertain this topic, which is clearly just Trump baiting and switching attention from the many promises he made and can't fulfill.

The best thing would be to get thier Central Bank under the Fed and get DOGE in their to straighten out thier government.

They need a residential real estate correction.

The Yukon could be filled with data centers.

The poll should have allowed more than one choice.

I don’t know if Canadian people would want it or not. The only ones I have met are farmers from the middle prairie. They have been upset with their government for a long time and they’re envious of what trump is trying to do in the US. That doesn’t mean they would want to join the US, but I’m curious what would happen if it was put to a national vote.
