What happens if we find fossils on Mars?

fossils found?? god is dead in the water. and mankind begins slow painful [for most] realization that IT aint center of unee verse! me? i am content in that state now :-/

here is the SPIRIT next to pathfinder.

 

They have already discovered fossilized bacteria in meteorites, and it is actually possible that this type of bacteria actually lead to the development of species on earth billions of years ago, so if we found fossils on Mars I don't think the average joe would give much thought to it.
