The market spiked up 5 pts.
Wild fluctuations in stock prices for several minutes and then up they go.
Didn't see any news items. Anyone have any ideas?

  2. Good Economic news, I think...and as I write this the SPX is headed back down. I can hear all those hot keys just 'a clicken...

Whatever it was I'm very grateful, it certainly got me out of a hole:cool:

  4. Don't you guy's keep an updated economic calendar?

The Street publish one each week. If you don't want to end up on the wrong side of a move like today's 12:00 Philadelphia Fed announcement you MUST be aware of these report releases.

  5. How can you be trading and not be aware of reports coming out?

it's unimportant to me, if I reacted to all the news, I might get shaken out of my shorts.

If it was the "Philly Fed" it's interesting how the effect lasted only a few minutes. Would have dumped my shorts but it would have been a mistake. Velllly intelllesting!

By pushing them little buttons on my keyboardey thing.:p

  8. Its triple witching tommorrow and weird sh*t is going to happen. I'm flat the rest of the week.

  9. Actually, there's an easier way. Check out "One Minute Trader" they send me a briefing each morning with this type of information. See Robert Tharp (rtharp) for more info about this...he occasionally writes commentary for this. BTW, it is free.
