Could be, but if I left a forum with a bad taste and later I made it I would still post a "hey suckers, look at me now!" post. Also, once a poster, always a poster, just maybe on another forum. She was very active and the need for self expression is there for a few of us. So as a minimum I would expect her to show up on T2W or BMT...
NoDoji got me started in vegetarianism. Such a clear and articulate person. Funny. I joined ET in 2004 when I was 46. Damn I'm old.
She didn't seem like the type of person that would come back to rub someone's nose into the ground. Also, she implied her profitability BEFORE she left the forum...several years BEFORE and continuously. Thus, there would be no reason to return to the forum to say "hey suckers, look at me now". Also, keep in mind...many traders come to this forum and after awhile...they just don't like ET for whatever reason. They then go somewhere else online via a different user name. Thus, its possible she's at another forum expressing herself but via a different user name.
Most people still don't realize that the big money in daytrading was made in ways that have basically nothing in common with what has always been marketed to the retail trader. It's very eye-opening to talk to guys who were successful back then. These guys were definitely not making bank because of trendlines, doji's and squiggly lines. LOL But that seems to be the misunderstanding. People don't understand why HFT's would effect a bull engulfing at the 20sma or similar setup, mistakenly assuming that's how these traders were making their money.
For whatever it is worth, was she from New York?: "futures io - View Profile: nodoji https://futures.io/trading_member/60096-nodoji.html nodoji is a Elite Member in the futures io. View nodoji's profile."
Great points. The real daytraders made money exploiting market inefficiencies and regulatory loopholes. Not to mention crazed public caused momentum -- These things simply do not exist to nearly the extent they once did. The reason is that TA patterns only exist in the past, it still "looks" like it works when looking at charts. But in real time its a completely different story-- its enter the trade and hope your pattern completes--money management is the only salvation for active chart based traders and getting lucky. I was an avid TAer member of MTA and TA evangelist for a few years until i spent some time observing at Knight, learning how markets really work as well making a serious objective study. Not to mention the obvious TA killing fact that a pseudo random generated set to within the same average range of a fluctuating stock price or not creates the exact same patterns as a real price. The real delusional say they would make money trading the random data based on TA-- talk about an addictive hindsight bias in full effect. Hence, revealing the fatally flawed premise of the phony edge. surf
You were once a TA evangelist? Just imagine, if your timelines weren't misaligned you might have teamed up with Nodoji.
Yes, big time. I think most traders first learn TA on their journey. Lol-- i ended up marrying a quant academic from this site-- TA chicks, like doji, would drive me to the loony bin By the way, there is a local lambo here with a copyplus custom tag-- is that u?
She was not from New York. Someone else ask me a similar like question about a year ago via private message by asking if she was from Hong Kong and posted a link to a another user name "nodoji" elsewhere. As with the other user names...completely different writing style in comparison to NoDoji of Elitetrader.com Yet, I think NoDoji here from ET was aware that she selected a user name for this forum that was already in use at other forums. Regardless, not really getting anywhere to try to find out where she's posting elsewhere and her new user name. I've always believed that when someone leaves without really saying goodbye publicly and they're posting some place else... Best to just leave them alone.
