I assume automated trading strategy, as opposed to manual scalping.

  5. I would BUY it...not FLAUNT it and BRAG about it. 2 different things. The luxury items I have no one knows about it unless they saw it for themselves.

I couldn't agree more. This topic came up repeatedly while I was active on this site, requesting Baron to do something about all of the abusive posters that would attack those merely trying to help others on his site. Many options were proposed, including OP self-moderation of threads that they created. After initially agreeing to this option, Baron ultimately decided that either it was too much work to implement, or that his page views might drop if the attacks and spams were better controlled. In any case, a solution never materialized and this problem (IMO) has driven away a lot of quality traders and posters from his site. I hope NoDoji is doing well. She and I had a few PM messages over the years. Definitely a quality person.

I was fairly active here for many years, but now might check in a few times per year to read a few threads. This is my first post in several years, and likely my last for another few years.

I haven't traded since late 2015. The market slowly changed rendering my methods mostly breakeven. It wasn't worth the effort for me to focus on new strategies. After the 'glory years' of 2007 to 2009, I don't believe we will ever see comparable trader profitability ever in the future. I was fortunately to become financially secure from those great years and have no need to trade much more difficult markets now to scratch out a living going forward.

Regarding a discussion earlier in the this thread, I do believe HFT's played a large role in the adversely changing markets for my methods. I was typically a liquidity provider, and HFT's made it extremely difficult to get orders filled at the same rate as in the past, even for 100 share lots. I can't say with 100% confidence that this was the biggest contributor to the changing markets for my trading, but it's my belief that it was. Doesn't matter, either way.

Anyway, I'm happily retired from trading, golfing, traveling and investing in commercial real estate projects (hotels, apartments, residential community developments) for retirement income. Life is good.

Best of luck and success for those still on ET. I'll likely continue to check back in a few times per year.
