  2. Apparently, from the news report that is posted it looks like everything below 9018 on the Mini-DJ Future is being BUSTED!

But the CME says that they aren't busting any of their trades.

And of course, the NYSE isn't gonna bust any purchases of stock made by the specialists, right?

So much for the marketplace being INTER-CONNECTED.

    Typical BS.

  3. before everybody starts yelling at me I am crazy, think
    twice guys !!!

I am pretty sure that todays action in the YM was a
major abuse of the markets. I think of the following scenario:

    1. One shorts massively CME S&P Futures or E-Minis
    2. The same person (or an affiliate) enters an erroneous
order in DOW / YM futures driving the whole market down,
    including far more liquid ES
    3. At the bottom closes out short pos in the ES.

I came to this as I have tick chart based indicators,
these told me that someone entered massive sell limits
short before the DOW / YM "mistake" happened.

Also note, this uses intermarket differences (busting trades)
    and coherences (arbitrage).

THE CTFC MUST URGENTLY INVESTIGATE THIS

  4. When they say they bust all trades below 9018, does that mean the guys who bought near the lows and sold for a quick bounce may be left with a short position?

I hear what your saying, this indeed has been "tried" before on a thin day in the bond markets over xmas, but failed with massive fatal consequences for the market maker. With volume thin in the Dow minis this would be the perfect time to do it.... I'm growing suspicious.... I would have been shafted if my Arbitrage Programme had been running... I'm thinkin conspiracy JFk style !

this would be really weird somehow.

if some dumb sucker is not able to type the right number - why should this turn to be a problem for everyone else but him?

trading is about taking advantage of someone else's mistakes, right?

    That's it...that's all.

If GLOBEX doesn't bust todays trades in line with the action ACE has taken, I'm moving my business over to ACE where they at least seem willing to correct a problem when they have one.

WAY too many screw-ups at GLOBEX in the last few months. Today's fiasco cost me ten grand! Not going to trade at GLOBEX again until they recover their credibility...and that will take years now, as far as I am concerned.

Unfortunately Globex is not going to bust trades. The Dow mini blip was about 6%, the ES/NQ sympathy blips were about 1.4%, and Globex doesn't think that was significant enough. It's a shame as an awful lot of people got hurt real bad, and the most the clerical jerk who caused the whole fiasco will get is a reprimand.
