This is what happens when the Master Trader at the firm is off for the week, and the newbie trader tries their luck...screw-up big time!!!!
CNBC is saying it was an "unintentitional" sell order hitting the mini's .... then the computers then start hitting all the bids going down.......didn't this happen in the pits about 2-3 months ago? rttrader -
S&P broke yesterdays high of day and low of day in less than half an hour...talk about a wild casino...
I would fully expect that the 8474 order to be busted. The nas and spx futures only dropped about 1% at the most so there was an extreme move in the YM of more than 5%. be ready to manage that open short.
How many times has this issue come up? Thats what you get for using a keypad for entering volume. Tap the zero key twice, OK. Tap three times, big trouble. Just from a cognitive UI point of view you'd think they could come up with a custom keypad that would eliminate these entry errors in the volume field.
That if the market continued to go lower and SP was trading down 25-30 right now, Solly would have never said anything and kept all 2000 ? Freaking bastards!!!!!!!!!!! Vega
Well, could have been an erroneous order... but is it also possible that it was a calculated move on a low volume day like today by a few who could do it? knowing the nature of this business, who knows?!
