What does referals mean in your profile?

some guys have 1 or 2 or 3.. what does it mean?

...I "used" to refer people to this site...but I stopped that during the last 5 months.....I never even knew that referal feature was here...

I didn't knew how referal worked or meant, but i have already
send several people here, but those didn't counted for me ;(
