What does gun violence really cost?

I would say it costs about a buck 0 five.

I'm not sure why Americans like yourself fell through the cracks, are largely uneducated, and and harbor racist ideas, but your ideas are ignorant. Diversity doesn't make countries unsafe, but ignorance and hatred does.

Sandy Hook families' lawsuit against gun makers gets trial date

"(CNN)A potentially precedent-setting lawsuit against gun manufacturers on behalf of families of those killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting will move forward to the discovery process, a Connecticut judge ruled Tuesday.

The decision, which also sets an April 3, 2018, trial date, paves the way for depositions and potential access to internal documents from Bushmaster Firearms and Remington.

It would be the first lawsuit of its kind to reach the discovery phase after the enactment of the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, or PLCAA, according to experts

"This is precedent setting in the sense that, after PLCAA, this is the first case against a firearms manufacturer under a negligence theory that looks like it might make it to trial," said Georgia State University law professor Timothy Lytton, who studies gun industry litigation...."

Mandatory gun insurance for gun owners might be the answer. Then, you kill someone because you are wacked, the insurance company gets nailed. Guess what, the insurance company is going to do it's due diligence and run background checks on you. The only problem is that gun usage isn't like a car, in that you don't have lots of statistics. However, it might be like flood insurance.

That is probably the free-market answer.

  9. And what is your solution for the tens of thousands of unregistered firearms on the south and west sides of Chicago? It's clearly a "free market" and outside the purview of any legislation...Like a typical leftist, you will avoid this question and pretend the problem doesn't exist.
