What does gun violence really COST

Discussion in 'Politics' started by nitro, Jun 18, 2015.

  1. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Ohio resident Lindsay Bennett, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this guy from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what he really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past six years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”

Mass murder. See Paris...for starters. Then hit your history books. Start with Stalin, or Zedong, or Pol Pot, or....

Assuming this was not a terrorist attack of ME or other origin, or domestic sympathy toward IS or AQ, it becomes tiresome to hear the political rhetoric about how this phenomena of murder is because of guns. It is a sign of a deeper illness, which many believe is a result of progressive policies.

Even if you made laws that banned guns across the country, the hundreds of millions of guns in circulation would still be obtained by people who don't care about the laws. Guns are completely removed from society in Paris, and the number of guns on the street in France is a tiny fraction of what we have here. Still, people got AK47s in and shot up everything.

Laws don't work when people are intent on murder.

    Go play in traffic.

The one thing you should never, ever do is underestimate the stupidity of progressive liberals.

  6. Odumbo has demonstrated time and time again... that he is INTENTIONALLY HARMING AMERICA... WANT'S TO DESTROY ALL THAT AMERICA HAS EVER BEEN!

This is yet another example in a long list.

We can never let the government confiscate or outlaw our guns. The most important reason we have them is to have a way to fight back against (and perhaps discourage) government tyranny... ESPECIALLY OUR OWN.

The Japanese in WWII remarked that they wouldn't want to try to invade America, as "everybody there has a gun"... a good point for American Lefty politicos to keep in mind.

The US may be the greatest nation in the world but there is nothing we can do about gun violence. Nothing. Which is exactly what the gun nuts have offered as an idea. Nothing. Which is exactly what is between their ears.

How long is the US going to be held hostage to the stupidity and fears of the gun nuts?

  8. I don't believe they are generally stupid (Maxine Waters, Hillary and some other self-proclaimed Progressives/Liberals, excepted), unfortunately... what they really are is "driven... with blinders to achieve their Leftist agenda's controls"... which in degrees is similar to Stalin's Russia and Hitler's Germany. Why would American leaders want anything like this? History tells us that Hitler was a "drug-addled madman"... whose brain farts lead to the death of 60 MILLION people!! How could anything like what he wanted be desirable in a civilized world??

    WAKE UP, AMERICA!!

Looks like the guns were bought legally.

"...Two handguns recovered have been traced back to Farook. He purchased them legally three or four years ago, an official said. Two rifles were purchased by someone else, possibly a former roommate, also legally three or four years ago. Officials said they don't think that person had anything to do with the shooting.

"These were people that came prepared," Burguan said. "There had to have been some degree of planning that went into this."..."
