What does a position keeper do?

    I am a little confused now as to what macfutures and the other company are. How are they different from a proprietry desk in Goldman or Morgan Stanley what's the difference?

  2. i think position keeper needs to communicate with the dealer. this is my own experience in my trading lab session in uni, position keeper needs to update the transaction made by the dealer. for example, like the dealer buys 10M from ANZ at rate of 0.9800 for AUD/USD, therefore you need to update "buy 10m USD at 0.9800, transaction ANZ001" (they have provided a table, you just need to fill them out). and also you need to monitor the breakeven in order to make a profit. if you're breakeven is at 0.9600 you need to sell at that rate to maintain secured position or sell above that rate to make profits. if you can't secure anything at those rates, means that you cannot squared the position, you will make a loss.
