After trading and "reading" the SPX macro tape all exhausting day (totally tariff crazy)... the moment i read your funny text... My mind siezed up... I Agree, spaces are the part of the "poetry" of communication
A lot of CFDs are tradeable even "overnight" or when the actual underlying (futures, stock, bonds, etc.) market may be closed. We are still able to trade US stocks like TSLA for example, 24hrs a day with a roughly 15 cent spread when the actual market is closed. When the underlying market opens the price will usually jump or gap to where most of the spot (CFD) markets are sitting around. 95% of the time the markets have the most volatility and volume when the underlying market is open but there are still plenty of opportunities about during the other hours. Another thing to note, as you mentioned, is that the CFD prices are often slightly different to the underlying market and even each other even though they all move together. Eg: Pepperstone CFD for Nasdaq current price = 20030 NQ futures current price= 20120 I have found the price differences doesn't really seem to matter. They move in sync so a 1% move in one of them will = a 1% in the other. Doesn't matter which one I'm trading.
I think CFDS are shit, and since CFD trading is not allowed for US citizens, I, and the most of the rest of ET, do not give a shit about it. How's that for an opine? Take your unregulated scam to other countries with no controls. Happy profitting!
That's a bit of an over-generalization. CFD trading is highly regulated in most countries with highly developed financial systems such as: Australia, New Zealand, UK, Eurozone (France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, etc.), Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland and more. The grapes aren't sour just because you can't reach them.
