By your own admission, it sounds like you have a working (ie. profitable) system. Why not automate it, if possible?
%% IT's NOT a good plan\ but he was kind enough to put warning ''if you cant control yourself'' As far as ''tally up transgressions''[easymon1 quote ],SCHW + many brokers do that daily +P&L, both realized + unrealized. LewisBJ ,,10 commandments of Trading[or 13now]; 3 losses in a row\take a break.. But only if you value business profits > more than thrills Also revenge trading is like breaking one of the 10 commandments of gun safety; NEVER point a gun[or trade mouse LOL ..] @ something you dont want to shoot. Avoid all horse play. NOT a prediction , you will probably make it\ you can read+ comprehend a 200 day moving average. Good thing for us trading/investing is not like gambling@ all\ someone messed- ruined the brakes of the Las Vegas card counter ''winner'',
As I have mentioned earlier I currently lack programming skills. It is something I looked at in the past and was going to look at again and I have received some good advice, so it definitely something I am going to work on.
NO wonder she rightly screams @ that. AS if SCHW or IBKR would mess with-ruin his brakes on a win streak?? AS if a leader or laggert, a king or queen is only on 52 cards?? Thanks[EDIT; we never considered cards+ dice in Monopoly gamblingLOL]
A really interesting subject. 'Tilt' could be expressed perhaps as revenge trading, where negative emotions kick in causing one to react negatively to previous circumstances. I'm going to go slightly off tangent to explain something.... It's a known phenomenon that drinking alchohol affects moods and behaviour. Take an adult drinking party which goes on for some hours, frequently people get loud, boisterous, often aggressive, inhibitions drop. Take drinking caffeine, heart rate increases, it actually makes me more aggresive. I notice I drive more aggresively, I can flare up easier. I've heard it said that raspberry drink affects children. https://nourishinghope.com/could-be...s-be-causing-your-childs-behavior-challenges/ What I'm trying to say is our environment has tangible effects on our moods, sometimes positively, sometimes negatively and we basically can't control it.
%% THAT's ok ,some meddle with an auto system or fail to use discretion which is reguired to a certain degree regardless........Enough info here, this thread, to fix the problem. No wonder Paul tudor Jones bought a farm + shoots ducks for food One sharp shooter, shotgun shoots the back duck in the flock; i aim for+ in front of lead bird + if the mid duck drops, fine with me.
What kind of system do you have? If you are using only the typical TA indicators, it's not at all difficult to program. Most of the difficulty isn't with the actual entries but other ancillary stuff like risk and time management. Anyway, you should really look into getting it automated if you have problem controlling you emotions.
You're just gonna have to find some way to calm yourself. Maybe try meditation,or drugs? LOL. I wish I had a dollar for every time I started throwing shit across the room when a trade moved against me.I'd have a lot of dollars.
There's possibly another way of handling the issue. Imagine everytime you are trading, you are not trading from home but trading at work, you are being paid by the boss to perform. If you don't perform, you are highly likely to be let go, the boss taps you on the shoulder and says "Aaah excuse me but I'd like to have a word with you in my office about your performance". When you're trading, put yourself under pressure to shape up or ship out.
