What do you call yourself?

  1. "who consider themselves "successful, well off, etc." when really they are vegetating on a 5 figure salary. They just think they are above the masses because they make 3 times as much as a construction worker and they can buy a Mercedes for 60 easy payments instead of a Dodge.I'm not saying the difference between 20k and 100k a year is negligible, but almost. And I would be just as ashamed of a mid six figure income as of a low 5 figure one. It's all the same: Enough to survive, not enough to enjoy"

No offense bro... but if the Talking Heads record again, you'd make great inspiration for their new tune! Or maybe it's just moi. Because what you said makes no sense (to me) vis-a-vis this thread/topic and life in general. Like, is there a point there?! Because some enlightened folks/traders might see what you said as "moronic" at least as far as a deeper (true?) meaning of success.

Alss take offense to your use of "Dodge"; I have a Durango; like to camp and take road trips. That Ok amigo? (smile)

  2. Atlantic

    Atlantic

you could also say that if you stay at home and trade - you "only" risk your money.

but if you get in your car and drive to work - you have to risk your life every day.

  4. Sorry if you misunderstood me, I might just as well have said Nissan or Ford, I was just looking for something which is not a $20,000 car with an $80,000 metal star or cat or funky "L" on the hood. I myself would hardly buy anything more expensive than a used Mitsubishi. Although it is a bit of a hassle to find a used one that has no problems, so from that point of view I understand people who prefer to buy new cars.

  5. oops, meant to quote lobster..no offense ice
very fine points, lobster/ iceman. surburban poverty with the 800k mtg and 1200.00 car payments is a very real part of american life today. so what is the difference between a guy making 20k and paying 500.00 per month rent and a guy making 250,000.00 and paying 8000.00 a month mortgage on a mc mansion???

and you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack, or you may find yourself living in a beautiful house with a beautiful wife and you may say to yourself---- how did i get here ?? my ode to david byrne and the talking heads.

    all the best,

  10. Hey Lobster...here's a few facts for you. If you're making a 5 figure income, consider yourself lucky, my man.

    Facts:
    1. The average male income in this country is a little over $29,000
    2. If you're Hispanic, it's even worse. You're making a little over
    $20,000

    3. If you're a woman, it gets even worse-about $17,000 a year.
    4. And if you're a Hispanic woman, Lord help you-about $12,500

You're calling a lot of people morons, my friend.

    Check out the factsHERE
