No fraud. GLOBEX made it quite clear what they were going to do in releasing their data each day when they changed their standards years ago. Each of us as traders or investors have a responsibility to know the environment we are working in. Sort of like getting behind the wheel of a car drunk, having an accident and then telling the cop you didn't know it was illegal to drive around swigging on a fifth of Jack while doing 100 mph.
Interesting. Did they say they would release false or deceiving information? That is basically what some are saying they have been doing for a while. For a US regulated exchange to send incorrect information for the benefit of others, is just plain fraud. Why else would they send inaccurate data?
They simply group the transactions as they see fit. That isn't illegal as long as all of the transactions are accounted for. What isn't accurate is that constant tick charts haven't been constant for years. If you create a 500 tick chart it isn't actually 500 ticks. This either effects you or it doesn't.
Thanks for your contributions Andy - probably best not to give away the entire farm though - some of us worked very hard testing some very simple conclusions. Probably in complete safety of course, given the quality of thought on this thread. Notice how it took almost a decade for someone to remark on what a tick chart can be used to show... Very disappointing. Aside from three posters, nobody who has posted on this thread appears capable of simple logic on such a simple matter. Trading is far more complex than how to display your data, and if people cannot even understand this then I marvel that they delude themselves that they can compete.
