What causes these rapid flash crashes in the price charts?

    The attached image shows flash crashes of the Ethereum price in a matter of mere minutes. If this is market manipulation how are some traders able to make profits by decreasing the price at will and raising it without the help of the broker?

    This is just one platform in the highly fragmented market without a central exchange.

    Compare order book above with ES DOM below which I am sure everyone is aware of the flash crash in ES.

    Really doesn't require everyone. Just one trader with decent size.

    That looks like a coinbase chart. Does coinbase even have an order book or is a trader completely blind?

    If no order book, who would trade on that platform?

    I never trust a chart with no volume on it;

    Someone needs to build an enterprise platform. I'd be so down to trade crypto's but nothing is mainstream enough to be decent.
