What build/version of TWS is the most stable?

I haven't upgraded for a long time and would like to do.
What build/version of TWS is the most stable?

Please tell your experiences or whether it is safe to upgrade ot the latest versions.

The latest version is very stable and working very well for me.

I updated to 872.6
Seems to be fine.

 

The only issue I have with the latest version is that DDE under Excel in Windows 2000 only locks up.

Under Windows XP it's fine. Bit of operating system flakiness on 2000 I guess.

I'm going to try it under Linux and WINE to see if it's more stable so I can have a consistent platform. Excel works fine under WINE and TWS is Java based so it should work well too.

 

What java version did u use under 2000?
