Hi guys, I used to trade with AMP, But I closed my account long time ago. Now I am combine #2 with TST, If everything goes as planned I take home 5K. At first I planned to stay with them longer, But I’ve changed my mind and avoid the 20% commissions. I’ll be happy to pocket them instead. Before I used X_Trader with AMP futures. Plan to use the TT platform by trading technology. With a 5K account, trading ES via TT, AMP look the best. Anything else ? I plan to impose myself a margin of 5K per ES contract. I’d like to average 5 points per day, 3-5 trades max per day. Round turn fees would be $4.10 Is there a better alternative ? Cost wise ? Quality wise ? Thanks.
Here's a list of firms that support TT: https://www.tradingtechnologies.com/platforms/tt-platform/#availability
One comment i would have is TT's MAP fee (could be $250/exchange). I heard Amp does not charge it but other FCMs might. Please check as you proceed
Please read this for TT Gateway/MAP fees: https://community.optimusfutures.com/t/tt-gateway-fee-and-other-fees/3291/5
If you can find a broker that will let you trade ES with a $5K account DO TELL. Maybe you mean MES https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/eq...sector=EQUITY+INDEX&exchange=CME&pageNumber=1
Intraday margin for $ES at AMP is 400$ per contract I believe. At TST they let you trade 15 contracts with a 5K account... But I’ll do my best and open a 10K account instead of 5K only. From ampglobal dot com.
Just to clarify - someone reading this thread is not going to be able open up a futures account at XYZ Broker and be long or short 15 ES contracts with a $5K account
Exception: your name is Nighthawk and you trade your own account with a befriended broker who knows who you are and what you do.... I guess, the same is valid for ET member bone....
You could open 12 contracts with 5K at AMP But you’d risk 12.5% per ES point. Can’t hold overnight neither.
AMP must be willing to take some hits or be very risk tolerant to give such small intraday margin. Will they have enough capital to survive if there is a large intra-day gap that goes limit down which is followed by limit down the day after.
