Katrina, I do not have the book I just look into it in my friends house. I would not dare to ask you to type whole excertpts here, I was just curious what strategies you find usefull. I am sure I can find articles on them somewhere. Thanks Walter
SPRO Please dont include that masquerader Tharp in with that group. Heres a guy who makes millions off of writing books. But, depends on some flimflammer to do his investing for him. Ask his Lil Boy Rtharp. You can only do so much flimming till sooner or later you get flammed yourself. Sterling
This is a must read, IMHO, to see the attitude NOT to have. I am not being Harry Hindsight here (although I don't care if you don't believe me) but I remember thinking while I was reading it (about 5-6 years ago from memory) "This guy is going to blow up some time.....". Read it again now, in light of what we now know, and you will see what I mean.
Gary Smith, no books but his commentary from internet services has turned my trading positive, simple trendline break system, but effective.
Is it the same Gary Smith that wrote 'How I trade for a living' or some other Gary Smith? I guess there is another Gary Smith too. Where is his website? Yes, simple trendline break systems can be effective too. I often look at trendlines if I do not forget to draw them, once used a breakout system like that with some other conditions added to get rid of false breakouts and it was not that bad at all. But I was too lazy, I guess, to keep using it. I had to draw trendlines...
Not sure about the book thing, but i originally found his columns on thestreet.com, now on realmoney.com. He has a trading service that i used for a couple months too. Although he is primarily an end of day trader, using scans in tc2000 will ocassionally give daytrades as well. Think that some of TonyOz scans are similar but have not tried them. Still use realmoney.com as well as tradingmarkets. Have been trying to figure out Don Miller's stuff without buying the CD but it is not easy, but looks promising. Chartmans basic scans can be found in the street archives, but will need some fine tuning to be useful.
