all depends on how great your system is. I got myself an '8 dimensional scalping system' that's nearly perfect. No programming with that though possible

    Hmmm....
    "Systems" huh?
    Your language is "systems".
    My language is "price action".
    See any difference?
Price action (basically) never changes except that the gains vary from bigger to smaller, or smaller to bigger.
Markets do the same things over and over and over...

what do you mean by price action......is it the chart patterns? the patterns do not change that is agreeable.

btw, if you taking discretionary subjective decisions on taking trades then your emotional decision system (which you yourself would not know exactly) is a system in itself. hard to prove but true.

Trade small enough that you can follow your plan.
    Keep it damn simple.
    Follow the market.

  7. Breakthrough(s)? I wouldn't consider my progress throughout the years as a breakthrough. I suppose I was fortunate enough never to seriously contemplate day trading.

With regard to – buying / selling / standing pat – mkt has not..., and does not change

With regard to – up / down / sideways / when / how long / how much / how violently – mkt evolves

Been that way since day 1

Either evolve with it…, or be left behind

  10. This was also one of my breakthroughs during the past year. Taking partial profits at multiples of the ATR (measured at the time the trade is entered) led to an increase in win % and also smoothed out the equity curve.
