May I ask why did you switch back to become a salary worker? Isn't it much happier to be a full-time trader in control of your time?
My very first job was 'bob a job', collecting 1 shilling for the cub brigade for doing errands or small jobs for people in the local village as a cub (junior boy scout). When the cub master (or whatever they were called) weren't running the program, I would don on a cub cap and shirt to make it look legit, do the rounds then pocket the money. When Auckland opened its new and first international airport (originally overseas planes flew into whenuapai air force base) I was employed to serve icecream to the crowd, they ran a 2 day air pageant. Always, accidently, some of the takings would fall into my pocket.
I enjoyed being self employed. I felt the edge for a small local MM was gone, the cost of the business jumped and so did the requirements from the clearing firms. I knew the minimums would jump to $5mm with in a year and I did not have that. It was time to move on after 25 years of having no idea what I would make. I wanted to try something different,

I know how that feels. I've had two government jobs (UK) that depended on software with 1990's architecture.
