I focused on this this year. Fewer positions, larger size. I tend to hold for 20-45 days but I increased my notional and reduced the number of positions to make it easier to follow all of them.

I think my main trading ambition for 2016 is to make "the big switchover" to trading futures only.

I made huge change in long term futures few years ago where I can't get out till price has gone so many percentages of range of last nine years so I can get much more add-ons and more plays on options, I was really cheating myself before, this has increased years of rollovers and overall length of trades and much more option trading which I prefer as I wait for price to go in direction back toward major trend. There is possible at times where it might never go to the zone I require, but that's trading. Plus I am almost in SAR system. This year got out of five year trade in Copper, but overall almost double of what I use to pull in. Using trailing stops for long term or any term for that matter for me hurts so much more than helps.

  6. I'm gonna continue to suede people of the benefits of free markets such that we can try to continue our progress through limited government capitalism... That's not the way we are headed.... I hope to make 40% ++

Be more confident in myself and my trading abilities. I still feel I am finished whenever I have a down month. I completely lack perspective. As I am moving toward more long-term real market calls in liquid markets, I need to keep my cool as returns are not as stable as with scalping/stat arb/ Microstructure stuff.

    1. Understand order types and how to not get fleeced by HFT traders, to not be on their radar (as much) in situations where displayed size is too visible.
    2. Automate certain complex strategies that are time sensitive and monitor their effectiveness.
    3. Look into other markets for diversification and optimized usage of margin/increased returns.
    4. Achieve much greater efficiency, lower drawdowns and a smoother curve through recently added diversification.
    5. Figure out ways how to take advantage of setups with limited liquidity through other instruments/time diversification.

  10. Confidence is a big one in trading -- none or too little...can kill you....also having too much.
it's a constant delicate dance or balet...to dance with Ms Market...:mad:
...Trading is like sailing...once you enter the sea, or market,...you're not in control...She is... -- you just have to adjust and react to it accordingly.
