-extract information - be neither bull nor bear
-identify dominant market/group
-assess strength of market/group in all time frames
-how likely is trend to continue
-stick to 2% max risk, positive expectancy systems
-observe mind biases
-avoid slipping into greed or fear, anger, impatience
-stay disciplined and avoid elation or depression
-find other outlets for happiness, irrational behavior, thrillseeking
-goal = long-term survival + modest profits, not big scores
-win = following the game plan
-there is always another train coming
